FY 2011-12 Nine-Month Budget Status Report

The Controller's FY 2011-12 Nine-Month Budget Status Report projects an ending General Fund balance of $172.4 million, driven primarily by improvement in the City’s general tax revenues.

Business Tax Reform Update

The Controller's Office was asked to develop an alternative to the City's $400 million payroll tax. A Gross Receipts alternative would make the business tax more equitable, improve revenue stability, and create an average of 2,000 jobs annually over the next 20 years.

Park Maintenance Standards Mid-Year Report

Citywide, the average mid-year park score was 90.6 percent, an increase compared to both last year and all prior years.

As the chief accounting officer and auditor for the City and County of San Francisco, the Controller is responsible for financial systems, procedures, internal controls and reports on the City's fiscal condition. The Controller conducts financial and performance audits of departments, agencies, concessions and contracts. In addition, the Controller provides a variety of support services that include processing the City budget, maintaining the City financial accounting information system and preparing paychecks for all employees.
